Before You Start — 3 Things to Check
- eSIM-compatible phone: iPhone XS (2018) or newer. Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer. Google Pixel 3 or newer. Most Android flagships from 2019+. Check in Settings > About Phone > look for eSIM or Carrier settings.
- Unlocked phone: Your phone must be unlocked to use a foreign eSIM. Check: Settings > About > Carrier Lock or SIM Status. If locked, contact your home carrier to unlock.
- QR code ready: After purchasing your eSIM, check your email for the QR code. Have it displayed on a second device — laptop, tablet, or another phone. You cannot scan a code on the same phone you are installing to.
iPhone Installation — Step by Step
- Connect to WiFi
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Tap Add eSIM
- Tap Use QR Code
- Hold your camera over the QR code on your second screen — it scans in 1-3 seconds

What is Data Roaming and Why Is It Essential?

Important: turn data roaming OFF on your home SIM line when abroad to prevent surprise charges on your home bill.

When Does the eSIM Activate?
