Confirm phone compatibility
The device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Regional versions of the same phone may have different capabilities. Configure the data line
After arriving in Beijing, set the eSIM as the mobile-data line and enable data roaming for that line if required. Turn off data roaming on the primary SIM to reduce the risk of unexpected charges. Keep the primary number active only when you need calls or verification messages.

Email, messaging, video meetings, maps, cloud documents, translation, ride-hailing, and file sharing are common requirements. Video calls, large attachments, and hotspot use consume much more data than basic messaging. Some plans may use international routing, but access and performance for individual services vary according to the plan, carrier, device, location, network conditions, and applicable requirements.
