Phuket is Thailand's most popular island destination — and a place where your network choice genuinely affects your experience, especially when island-hopping to Phi Phi or entering Khao Sok jungle.

Phuket eSIM: Which Network?

Our Thailand eSIM uses AIS — Thailand's #1 network by coverage, with the strongest signal across Phuket's beaches, islands, and jungle interiors.

Coverage Spot by Spot

Patong Beach

AIS 5G available on the beachfront. Bangla Road (nightlife strip): all networks excellent. Old Phuket Town (30 minutes east): excellent AIS coverage and great for street food photography.

Kata and Karon Beaches

Both beaches: AIS excellent. Kata Noi (small secluded beach south of Kata): AIS good. Promthep Cape (southern tip of Phuket, sunset viewpoint): AIS 4G works at the viewpoint.

Phi Phi Islands (Day Trip or Overnight)

Getting there: 45-minute speedboat from Rassada Pier — AIS maintains signal most of the crossing.

  • Phi Phi Don (main island with accommodation): AIS works well in Tonsai Bay town area. Viewpoint hike: signal drops on trail but recovers at the top.
  • Phi Phi Leh (Maya Bay — The Beach film location): No signal in the bay — boats anchor and tours are guided. This is expected.
  • Viking Cave: No signal. Beautiful regardless.

Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island)

Day tours depart from Ao Po Marina or Tha Len Bay. In the bay: AIS has partial signal near larger islands. Ko Tapu (James Bond Island): AIS 4G works surprisingly well at the limestone rock. Ko Panyi (floating Muslim village): AIS good.

Khao Sok National Park (3 hours north of Phuket)

Cheow Lan Lake (the famous floating bungalows in the jungle lake): AIS partial near the pier at Ratchaprapha Dam. On the lake itself and at floating raft houses: no reliable signal on any network — part of the magic. Download Spotify playlists before going.
